Developing a Championship Mindset through Resilience
Cam F. Awesome was born Lenroy Thompson. The New York-bred fighter saw his heavyweight boxing reputation take a hit in 2012 when the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency suspended him for a year after he failed to disclose his whereabouts in order to be drug tested.
While he went on to have a quarter-life crisis of sorts, he soon got back on track and returned to the ring with big dreams of making the trip to Rio for the 2016 Olympics. Learning how to build resilience can be a long journey, but in turn this has provided security and renewed confidence in Cam’s life.
As a way of recognizing his rebirth, he legally changed his moniker to Cam F. Awesome. This became his way of recognizing and remembering how it’s possible to overcome difficulties with pride.
